Meet Your Photographer
Hi, I’m Daniela- a portrait photographer in Old Town Alexandria, and owner of Movement & Media Co. I've spent the past eight years photographing professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs across the DC area, and I love what I do.
After years of shooting on location, I'm excited to finally have a space to welcome you into. My studio in Old Town gives us a controlled environment where we can focus on getting great shots without worrying about weather, lighting, or finding the perfect backdrop.
When I'm not shooting, I'm training for my next race, spending time with my two sassy dogs, or dancing with my local salsa team. Doing a little bit of everything keeps me energized and excited about the next project. Let’s work together!

Booking a session is simple. Fill out the contact form with details about what you need, and I'll reply within 24 hours with a pricing guide and questionnaire to get started.
Once you book, you'll receive a detailed prep guide covering wardrobe tips, what to expect on session day, and how to feel confident in front of the camera. During your session, I'll guide you through poses and adjustments so you can relax and be present.
Your edited images are delivered within 1-3 weeks via online gallery, ready to download and use immediately. Rush option available.

I believe great headshots strike a balance between polished and authentic. My goal is to capture you as you are- confident, approachable, and professional- without stiff poses or overly retouched results. I work efficiently but never rushed, and I'll make adjustments until we get it right.
My primary goal is for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera so your true personality comes through. You'll leave with images that actually feel like you, just elevated.

Studio sessions are priced based on time and number of images purchased. Below are popular session examples to get you started. Custom quotes available for larger projects or on-location sessions.

20 minutes in-studio

These collections are presented as a reference. When you inquire, you will receive a detailed pricing guide to design a session to fit your exact needs. All collections include a pre-session questionnaire, a detailed style & prep guide, professional retouching and editing revisions, multiple backdrop options, and professional lighting set-ups to match your project.
FAQs
What is the turn-around time for photos?
Photo proofs will be delivered within 48 hours. Clients will select their favorite images for editing, and those edits will be delivered within 1-3 weeks. Rush options available.
How will the photos be edited?
All photographs are generally edited for color consistency, brightness, and composition. Faces will be retouched for skin smoothing, teeth whitening, clothing fixes, and stray hair removals unless otherwise requested. You can review my portfolio on this page for examples.
Do you provide hair and make-up?
Not at this time. Clients are responsible for their appearance, but a detailed style guide will be sent prior to your session to help with preparation.
What kind of session can I book here?
Whether you need updated professional photos or want to showcase your work, the studio is designed to serve a variety of portrait needs. This includes headshots, personal branding sessions for entrepreneurs and coaches, and lifestyle sessions for movement professionals like yoga teachers, Pilates instructors, and fitness coaches. I also offer family portrait sessions in the studio.
Can I bring multiple outfits or do different looks during one session?
Absolutely. I have a variety of props and three backdrops to choose from to help you create the images you want. As for outfit changes, you are welcome to do as many as you’d like, with respect to the length of your session. Easy ways to change looks include additional layers (suit jacket, blazer), and a different backdrop.
What do I wear?
Generally speaking, wear something that makes you feel confident and aligns with how you want to be perceived. Solid colors and simple patterns photograph well. A detailed style guide will be sent to you once you book.
